Prayer for Young Wonders Campers

From Counselor Jillian:



From counselor Kaden:
Dear Lord, I want to lift up each of our Young Wonder campers as the summer approaches and we begin to think about our next year at Camp Horizon. I ask you to help these young students finish their school year by giving everything they have got in their classes. I ask that you stay within their minds and their hearts through every task whether big or small. I can't wait to be a part of their walk for You as they grow Spiritually this summer. Amen.


From counselor Anika:



From Counselor Cal:
Lord, I pray that you work through the Young Wonders this summer. I ask that you offer camp as an escape from the discomforts of life. Use camp as a pressure-free space that drives your children to leave their comfort zone. I pray that counselors provide your unconditional love and meet them where they are. Let them form lifelong bonds with one another and strengthen their connection to you. Grace them with peace and safety. Amen.


From Counselor Katie:
Prayer of Serenity
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
Courage to change the things I can.
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time.
Enjoying one moment at a time, 
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking as He did, this sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that He will make things right.
If I surrender to His will,
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him.

Dear God, we know we are in a tough time in this world but we pray that you would heal the minds and bodies of others and show everyone your light of passage, and help us overcome this challenge in our world. And I pray for these blessed kids that you keep them safe and secure and for them to know that you are with them. Amen

Today seems like the perfect day to lift up our Director Joel Wilke in prayer. Today is his birthday. So as you pray for him, please send him some virtual birthday love as well! Lord, today we lift up Joel. We lift him up as a leader, a father, a husband, and as your child. These past 11 years that he has been at Camp we have seen miraculous things happen. He has listened to you and sought your guidance through all these years. He is isn't afraid to dream with you! This is How We Fight

This past couple of months have felt like we were preparing for war. A spiritual war, but a war nonetheless. We have been working hard to prevent this war, and preparing just in case. As a camp we have hunkered down in all the necessary ways to protect ourselves and these hallowed grounds to be used for the ministry we were created for. We have spent hours in prayer and fasting discerning what and where and when we are to move forward. There have been many divine moments of answers, nudges, gifts, and incredible weather. The enemy is still working just as hard to win this war. We have had many patrons on our trails and it has been good to see people out enjoying the weather. Each time someone doesn't follow the rules it feels like a blow, because we are trying to remain open to serve people now but ultimately our campers this summer.
