Prayer for Junior High Journey Campers

From counselor Kaden:
Dear Lord, I want to lift up each of our Junior High campers as the summer approaches and we begin to think about our next year at Camp Horizon. I ask you to help these young students finish their school year by giving everything they have got in their classes. I ask that you stay within their minds and their hearts through every task whether big or small. I can't wait to be a part of their walk for You as they grow Spiritually this summer. Amen.

From counselor Adison:
Hey God, I pray our JHJ campers can feel your presence during these times, hopefully just as much as they do at Camp. I pray that even in times where it feels like everything is canceled, Lord, that they are still able to see far enough in the future, and know that this will not last forever, and that we are so looking forward to seeing them all this summer. I pray for their safety, and for their health, and I pray that they feel held, not only by those around them, but also by You. Thank you for each and every one of their smiling faces, God.

From counselor Alexis:
Dear God, We are so blessed that you plan to send us JHJ Campers this summer so that we can help them grow. I pray that they all stay happy and healthy for the spring and can make it to camp this summer. Amen.

From counselor Kirsten:
God, I pray that you be with our JHJ campers during this crazy time. Lord, I ask that you cover them with your peace and your strength. Just remind them of your goodness and love right now. God I ask that you prepare their hearts and minds for camp this summer. Remind them that they are loved and cared about, and the camp staff cannot wait for their arrival. God thank you for calling each JHJ camper to camp this summer. In Jesus' name, Amen.

From counselor Josh:
Dear God, I pray that through everything, our campers realized they are loved and we are here for them. High school can be tough and I just want them to know that no matter what we will be there for them. I pray that they stay safe through this tough time of Covid-19. 
I pray that with their time at camp, they stay safe and do not get hurt. I pray that amazing friendships that last a lifetime are built and fostered. I pray that everyone is kind to each other and differences are put aside. 
I also pray that their faith in you grows tremendously. I pray they find peace and comfort in You. In Your name I pray, Amen.

Today seems like the perfect day to lift up our Director Joel Wilke in prayer. Today is his birthday. So as you pray for him, please send him some virtual birthday love as well! Lord, today we lift up Joel. We lift him up as a leader, a father, a husband, and as your child. These past 11 years that he has been at Camp we have seen miraculous things happen. He has listened to you and sought your guidance through all these years. He is isn't afraid to dream with you! This is How We Fight

This past couple of months have felt like we were preparing for war. A spiritual war, but a war nonetheless. We have been working hard to prevent this war, and preparing just in case. As a camp we have hunkered down in all the necessary ways to protect ourselves and these hallowed grounds to be used for the ministry we were created for. We have spent hours in prayer and fasting discerning what and where and when we are to move forward. There have been many divine moments of answers, nudges, gifts, and incredible weather. The enemy is still working just as hard to win this war. We have had many patrons on our trails and it has been good to see people out enjoying the weather. Each time someone doesn't follow the rules it feels like a blow, because we are trying to remain open to serve people now but ultimately our campers this summer.
