Prayer for Elementary Explorer Campers

From counselor Allison:

God, thank you so much for these campers. Thank you for their willingness to learn, and to listen, and to grow in their faith with You. I pray that right now, through this time of strangeness and isolation, that You will work in their hearts, reassuring them that everything will be okay, even though it feels a little bit weird right now. Please help these kids to focus on their schoolwork when it seems impossible, but also to know that it’s okay to relax and have fun too. God, I just pray that you are a presence in each of these campers’ homes every day, guarding and guiding these young people in Your way and down the path that You’ve set for them. Help them to feel Your presence when they are sad or lonely, and to rejoice with You in the happy moments as well. Lord, please protect these kids and continue to watch over them as they live their lives in a new and different way. Thank you, God, for Your goodness and never-ending acceptance of us, no matter what state we come to You in. We love You.

From counselor Braden:
Dear Lord, thank you for games. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in contact with our friends through Xbox, PS4, PC, Switch, and other consoles. Lord, thank you for our parents. As we keep going through this time of staying inside, keep us busy in our houses. Amen

From counselor Kaden:
Dear Lord, I want to lift up each of our Elementary Explorer campers as the summer approaches and we begin to think about our next year at Camp Horizon. I ask you to help these young students finish their school year by giving everything they have got in their classes. I ask that you stay within their minds and their hearts through every task whether big or small. I can't wait to be a part of their walk for You as they grow Spiritually this summer. Amen.

From counselor Kelsey:

Heavenly Father,  We come to you today with open hearts and open minds. Use this time in prayer as a way to build our relationship with you. Lord, thank you for the daily lessons You teach us. Even in the midst of this time and sickness, help us to still seek you in the little moments with family and siblings. Give us peaceful hearts when we want to get frustrated and help us to remember that this will not last forever. Help this be a time where we read the Word more and be more intentional in our relationships with You. Lord, you know these days can be hard and long. Help us to push through with strength as we work on homework and do extra chores around the house. Lead us to you in the everyday moments. Lord, I thank you for these campers and their beautiful hearts. Let them know how loved they are and how treasured they are. Remind them their worth is found in you and how your love is never-ending. Guide their hearts to you. I ask you to cover them in extra love today wherever they are and whatever they are doing. Help us love better every day, as you did. Thank you for the comfort you give us, Lord. We come to you in Jesus' name, Amen.

From counselor Gabe:
Dear Lord, I want to take a minute to lift up the Elementary Explorers. I hope they're all staying safe and healthy, and I hope that their online learning is going smoothly. I'm praying they're eager to learn this summer, just as us counselors are eager to teach them. In your name, we pray. Amen.

From counselor Emily:

God, During this time of uncertainty, confusion, and chaos, remind the Elementary Explorers that they want to be your sheep. Help them to remember that they don’t want to be goats, because there’s no hope when you’re a goat. As sheep, we pray that our Elementary Explorers trust in you and have hope for whatever the summer brings. We pray for blessings on them and their families as they finish this school year strong and are prepared for a great summer ahead! In your name we pray, Amen. 

From Counselor Audrey:
Hey God, within this time of uncertainty I pray for any kid whether struggles have been presented to them yet, or not. I pray they find joy in their days and have their hearts ready for a fun summer! Thank you Lord, for their willingness to serve and learn. Thank you for these kids that will be presented to us this summer. Amen.
